  1. Im sorry helena, but if you are a Christian, you should not marry a muslim. It would have been better if you had not started dating him to begin with. The bible is clear that we are not to be unequally yoked, meaning a Christian shouldnt marry someone who isnt a Christian. In addition, since the husband is supposed to be the spiritual head of your house, how can a muslim properly be a spiritual head? A muslim is not saved. A muslim is spiritually blind. I know its painful, but this is not a relationship you should be in.

  2. 1st Corinthians 1:17 Baptism, water immersion, follows Salvation....but it has no power to save. This is why the scripture says....BELIEVE and be.... baptized. The water without the Salvation is just a shower., its a bath. Notice Mark 16:16......."whosoever does not BELIEVE, shall be damned (condemned), This is John 3:36 Its the BELIEVING that matters......not the water. Its your FAITH that is "counted as Righteousness", not the water. Being water baptized is a public confession of your Salvation, and its symbolic of the old man dying, and the new man rising..."in Christ". You should be water baptized, ONLY AFTER you are Born Again.

  4. I'm going to answer this from a practical viewpoint of considering what life will look like for you many years down the line. I've been married for over 30 years now. We had both been Christians for a number of years before we got married. We both come from Christian families with parents (and grandparents) on their first marriages. We have a similar outlook on life and similar priorities. We know many Christian couples that have been married for decades as well. There's not a one of us that would say marriage is easy. The two main reasons we're all still married are 1) that we all had much more in common than we had differences and 2) we married people of good character and integrity without a lot of red flags about them. I know many Christians whose marriages have been disasters and often ended up separated or divorced. Often it is because they ignored many red flags before marrying someone (which has included marrying Christians who really needed to clean up their own act first). The majority of Christians I know go into marriage with a clearcut sense that it is for life. However, ignoring red flags often ends up putting one into a very bad situation. I've seen a lot of marriages over my life, both those that have gone well and those that have not. My gut instincts are that it is a strong probability that if you continue with this relationship that years from now you will kick yourself for having gotten into it. A good friend who's now been a pastor for nearly 40 years gave some good marriage advice in a sermon. He described marriages as going through three general stages: infatuation, disillusionment, and contentment. The majority of marriages (and most relationships) start off with both partners infatuated with each other. You sound like you are fully in the infatuation stage where you cannot image life apart from your boyfriend. There's a good chance that within the next few years that disillusionment will start to set in. The burning passion, longing, and infatuation starts to evaporate and one finds oneself stuck with the reality of the other person and they'll probably be feeling the same way. This happens in pretty much every marriage. It's in the disillusionment stage that most marriages that are going to end do so. After disillusionment fully sets in, what keeps a marriage together is commitment, character, and integrity. Having a common outlook on life, supportive families, supportive friends, and having stable influences in both of your lives is what allows a couple to move to the contentment stage. You see each other fairly clearly (both pros and cons), you're comfortable together, and you've become partners for life. I cannot imagine life without my wife right now. Having said that, there are occasionally some nights we both sleep on opposite sides of the bed as far apart as we can without falling off the edge or one of us heads to the couch. One of the biggest blessings in my life is my wife's family. There is no drama. Get togethers are enjoyable and relaxing. I cannot imagine what it is like for people where drama and fighting are common place in family relationships. The infatuation stage will be great for a few years, but then it is about character, how much a couple has in common, and what type of support structure they have around them that helps move them through disillusionment to contentment. What do you think life will look like 5 to 10 years from now if you stay in this relationship and get married? He and his family and friends are likely to consider your children as Muslims and view them as belonging primarily to him rather than you. Will he expect you to eat halal food? Dress appropriately? Observe Ramadan and other things? How will his family and friends treat you as a non-muslim? Will there be pressure for you to convert? I don't know what country you are in, or where he and his family might be from. You may face some nasty political and custody situations down the line if something starts falling apart in the relationship. You will very likely come directly face to face with what Muslims really think of Christians. Will your Muslim husband stand up for you as a Christian? or will he start to expect you to convert? I know a pastor from Nigeria (where there is much Muslim on Christian violence occurring). His comment about Muslims was this: they are honest friendly good people, but you never know when they will show up with torches and machetes in the middle of the night to kill you because some imam or cleric told them to because you are an infidel. I'm NOT saying your boyfriend would do this. However, if you continue in this relationship, you (and potentially your children) will likely come to face to face with the dark side of Islam that sees you as an infidel that needs to be converted and that your children might need to be protected from you. I can tell you with near certainty that the infatuation and deep longing you feel right now will evaporate and change over time. Without that, would you really have anything in common with your boyfriend that would draw you to him? If you continue with this relationship, you've got a good shot at having a few years of infatuation and good times. However at some point (likely within the next 3 to 5 years), the reality of who you both really are and want from life will start to determine the quality of the relationship and your life (and potentially your children's lives).

  8. Ha! The title of your thread gave spouse and I a great morning chuckle. Thanks. But, I am not listening to a video especially a 25 minute one with Elvis show theme music as it's beginning. Though I am old enough to have watched Elvis on Ed Sullivan and run out to then buy Blue Suede Shoes by Carl Perkins by mistake like all the other record purchasers did that Monday after the tv program. There were no Elvis records in stock and no one remembered who it was that we had seen on Ed Sullivan. Soon Elvis was doing those awful dumb movies and that was that. We moved on to Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, and retained memories of Fat's Domino early work , and then onto Motown's James Brown. In my late years now I find I do like Elvis' Blue Christmas, and I do a great imitation of Porky Pig doing Elvis' Blue Christmas. All I have to do is start that stuttering of Bl bl blu Chr chr Chrismas in Porky pig voice styling Elvis and my wife just cracks up. As to God's voice in song- that is an image hard to get a grip on - thundering, and cedars breaking, and combining that with an Elvis; but Tom Jones maybe. A brief look at the qualities of God's voice: To Him who rides upon the highest heavens, which are from ancient times; Behold, He speaks forth with His voice, a mighty voice. The voice of the LORD is upon the waters; The God of glory thunders, The LORD is over many waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful, The voice of the LORD is majestic. The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; Yes, the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered; He raised His voice, the earth melted. "The LORD thundered from heaven, And the Most High uttered His voice. The LORD also thundered in the heavens, And the Most High uttered His voice, Hailstones and coals of fire. and behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the way of the east And His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory. His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters. When He utters His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, And He causes the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain, And brings out the wind from His storehouses.

  9. PARASHAH: “Achrei Mot” (after the death) and “Kadoshim” (holy ones) LEV 16:1-20:27 ; Amos 9:7-15; Luke 2:1-52 This Parashah speaks of the solemn Moed (appointed day) of Yom Kippur. The “Day of Redemption” also known as the “day of Coverings” (Yom HaKipurim). It was the only day of the year when the High Priest could enter into the “Most Holy Place” (Kadosh HaKadoshim) the “Holy of Holies”. This is where the “Aron HaKodesh” (Ark of the Covenant) was kept and where the “Shekinah” (Glory of YHVH) hovered over the “Kaporet” (the covering of the Ark of the Covenant, looking down upon the Mercy Seat. The Parashah starts out with; “” Tell Aaron your brother not to come at just any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the Ark, lest he die” Was this perhaps the reason why Nadab and Abihu died? Because the went into the Holy of Holies with their own fire? That is another thought. The high priest had to put on a special tunic, all white, of fine linen. Thus, today it is customary during Yom Kippur to wear all white, symbolic of how YHVH views us through Yeshua our Messiah, but ONLY through Yeshua, can we be viewed as “Holy unto the LORD” The High Priest had to sacrifice a bull and a ram for the sin and burnt offering. The bull could signify the “strength” of G-d, representing also Aaron and his family. and the ram, the reminder of the ram sacrificed instead of Isaac on “Mt. Moriah”. The ram symbolizes YESHUA who took our place on the cross of “Mt. Calvary” Two goats were also present; one served as a “scapegoat” and the other the “sacrificial goat”. We see Yeshua symbolized in both goats. One was sacrificed as a sin offering, symbolizing Yeshua as our “sacrifice of sin” because we are sinners. The other goat carried symbolically our sins and was sent off into the desert, (Azazel) as “Yeshua took our sins away from us”, and as far as the East is from the West, so our sins will be separated from us. Aaron then took a censor of hot coals from the brazen altar, and he took incense and put the incense on the hot coals, then, with the smoking incense, he went into the Holy of Holies and put blood on the Mercy Seat. We see our Messiah Yeshua in all of this. To have fellowship with our creator, we need to start at the cross, where our sins were judged. This is the brazen altar. The incense symbolizes our prayers that go up before our Heavenly Father, through our prayers, we have fellowship with HIM. The blood that is sprinkled on the mercy seat symbolizes the blood of Messiah, that was shed for all of our sins. Under the mercy seat are the commandments that were given on Sinai. These were broken by our rebellion, and the blood of Messiah “covers” the sins of us all, BUT, more than that, they have been REMOVED, once and forever. Chapter 17 speaks on the “HaDam Kodesh” The sanctity of blood. Since blood symbolizes life, then, YHVH has prohibited the drinking of blood. One of the reasons that carnivorous animals are not kosher to eat is because they eat flesh, and flesh contains blood. “You shall not eat the blood of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood” 17:14 Chapter 18 deals with sexual sins, there is no need to go over them since they are self-explanatory, much is common sense, yet in today’s societies, there is a perverse sexual expression, and philosophy of “if it feels good, do it” this is a lie straight from the pit of hell, straight from HaSatan! Sex should be expressed in the bond of matrimony and in this sense, it is entirely holy and sacred, because there is a commitment between the husband and wife, which (should) last a lifetime. And this is where the enemy attacks, Satan hates families, that’s a fact. Chapter 19 starts with the words; “Ye shall be Holy for I am Holy”. When we look at the original Hebrew we read; “Amarta Aleichem Kadoshim ti’hiyu Ki Kadosh Ani” But there is something different in the two words; “Kadoshim” (ones who are holy) and Kadosh (Holy ONE). The word “Be ye Holy” in the original Hebrew has 5 letters, and the word “Kadosh” has 4 letters. The biggest difference is that the “o” in “Kadoshim” is not present, but it IS present in “Kadosh”. If we write these words in English, they would be “Kadshim” and “Kadosh” Why? There is a missing letter “Vav” The “vav” is pronounced as either “v” “o” or “u”. It symbolizes the “nail”. Perfect Holiness without sin is only Adonai! He alone has the “vav” He took the “nail” for our sins. Our Holiness is lacking, we are not perfect as we have the sin nature, therefore, our Holiness cannot carry the “Vav” chapter 19 deals with quite a variety of commandments; “You shall not profane the name of the LORD thy YHVH; You shall love thy neighbor as thyself, I AM YHVH”. All of the 613 commandments of HaShem have to do with honoring YHVH and our relationship with our fellow man. When we honor and love the LORD with all of our heart, we are honoring and not profaning the Name YHVH, and when we honor and treat our fellow man well and try to establish a good relationship with him or her, we are, in a matter of sense, keeping the whole Torah, (in a general sense). When we are a bad witness before our fellow man, when we are an embarrassment because our sins are brought into the light, then, we are profaning the name of YHVH. ” you shall not curse the deaf nor put a stumbling block before the blind” (19:14) When one talks about another in a negative sense or spreading an “untruth” the “other” cannot hear what is being said, it is as if that person is “deaf”. When we misrepresent the Truth of God, teach or spread false teaching whether on purpose or by error, we are in a way a “stumbling block” before someone that does not know Yeshua “The blind” (spiritually). “You shall not sow your field with mixed seed” (19:19) because each plant takes away from the soil nutrients, planting a mixture of crops will very soon deplete the soil of all of its nutrients, making the soil useless. “You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor TATTOO any marks on you I AM YHVH! That is quite a statement. I am of the opinion that if God wanted us to have tattoos on our bodies, we would have been born with them. Why can’t people be happy with the bodies God gave them? Why do they have to alter them with drawings and markings? But such was the custom of the pagan cultures like the Canaanites, Moabites, etc., and it continues today. However, the blood of Yeshua covers cleanses, forgives ALL sin, even the sin of tattooing, yet tattooing is one sin that will leave its mark forever! (unless it is somehow removed) ” uncovering the nakedness of ….” Is another way of saying, “having sex” chapter 20 takes up that topic again along with other topics? Adultery, under Torah command, resulted in the death penalty, if this were effective today, how many couples would be true to each other, really? Perhaps many more than we imagine. It seems like sexuality is a serious issue with our creator. If it is serious with Him, it should be with us as well. When we follow the Torah of Adonai and put his commandments into practice with all of our heart, we are consecrating ourselves to Him, as “Kedoshim and Tzadikim” (holy and righteous ones) however always remember, that “SALVATION” comes ONLY through FAITH IN YESHUA! It is our faith in HIM that makes us Holy and Righteous, and this relationship leads us to Holy and Righteous works, which are obedience to his mitzvoth (commandments) AMOS 9:7-15 Amos Ha Navi (Amos the Prophet) speaks through the Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit) saying that Yes, Adonai will seek out and punish Israel for their sins, and will search out the kingdoms of the earth where they are at, many will and have been destroyed because of their rebellion, HOWEVER, not all, there is always a remnant which is faithful, and true to the God of creation. Amos looks into the future, and sees that Israel, and all of God’s children, both born as Israelis, and born in the Gentile nations will come together as ONE, (echad), …”Behold, the day is coming says YHVH…” we look into the future millennium and see “paradise restored” and real and eternal peace and Yeshua will be on the throne as KING and LORD of all the world, what a time that will be for ALL of us. LUKE 2:1-52 Do we forward to the future return of Yeshua? In this chapter, Simeon and Anna looked forward and greatly rejoiced to see Mashiach, even as a baby. He was presented at the Temple and was circumcised, Simeon and Anna recognized him as Mashiach, even before he grew up and performed miracles. Simeon said; “My eyes have seen YESHUAH! Who is a LIGHT (HaOr) to bring revelation to the Gentiles? It is God’s perfect will that Yeshua be revealed to ALL PEOPLES, both those of Israel and those outside of Israel, so that HIS BODY might be complete, a “Kehilah Kadosh, Kol HaAm” (A holy congregation of all people) Shabbat Shalom J. While it may be controversial to some, to some others that don't understand it all, I think that for most that we get a part of it at least. What blesses me most is that we ALL will be a part of it for ALL Time, together, and in "(one accord)" no more disputes, no angst, just loving being together Praising our Heavenly Father for making it possible, All Glory to Jesus, "Who so loved us, that He gave." If you, for entertainment, can watch women get violently raped, watch fathers have sex with daughters, brothers have sex with sisters, watch men have sex with men, watch women have sex with women, and your conscience as a Christian is not seared and you claim to use this as a "witnessing tool" in talking to atheists, then something is dreadfully wrong. Good storyline and characters? That's like men saying they read Playboy for the articles. I've read dozens of sites where Christians do nothing but exalt this show and in all of them and here, I see an attachment to the to content as something the likes I've never seen before. It's frightening to me. It's emotional and mental and deep. And scores of Christians are saying....well, it doesn't affect me. WHY NOT?!?! Have you stopped to ask yourself that. Why doesn't it affect you as a Christian? That's what I don't understand.

  15. What is justification? Question: "What is justification? What does it mean to be justified?" Answer: Simply put, to justify is to declare righteous, to make one right with God. Justification is God’s declaring those who receive Christ to be righteous, based on Christ’s righteousness being imputed to the accounts of those who receive Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). Though justification as a principle is found throughout Scripture, the main passage describing justification in relation to believers is Romans 3:21-26: “But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.” We are justified, declared righteous, at the moment of our salvation. Justification does not make us righteous, but rather pronounces us righteous. Our righteousness comes from placing our faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. His sacrifice covers our sin, allowing God to see us as perfect and unblemished. Because as believers we are in Christ, God sees Christ's own righteousness when He looks at us. This meets God's demands for perfection; thus, He declares us righteous—He justifies us. Romans 5:18-19 sums it up well: “Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.” It is because of justification that the peace of God can rule in our lives. It is because of justification that believers can have assurance of salvation. It is the fact of justification that enables God to begin the process of sanctification—the process by which God makes us in reality what we already are positionally. “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). https://www.gotquestions.org/justification.html

  16. Life and death is like the daily routine here in the world. On the Green Mile and those who are on death watch waiting for their turn to die.. I have heart disease. Life becomes very fragile. So is it death watch or life watch. Every one is subject, but the interpretation comes into play For the world life is like playing dodge ball stealing cookies from the cookie Jar along the way defying death. They clime the most dangerous mountain pitting their life against the most dangerous mountain pitting their life against the mountain. They jump out of planes at thirty thousand feet. You get what you pay for. This is the worlds interpretation of life. Still we all have a date with destiny. I came to visit a friend in the Hospital who developed mersa in his legs. This day my friend was doped up with drugs could not stay awake. I sked why he was so drugged. They would not tell me. Then I knew he was on death watch. He died a short time after. But Doug didn't really die My wife Susan a year ago She had to many issues that the Hospital. She was on death watch also. She kept say she loved me. She died that night, but for all who have taken Jesus its a fast elevator ride to heaven. I've been on death watch for a long time but the sand in the hour glass is quickly running out so I look up At Susan's smiling face and tell her I be there soon. I know because I have blessed hope and Susan and I will be waling with Jesus through eternity together. The world holds on to its bag of gold they find the their bag is eaten by the moths and. Their will not be a party waiting for them but where they go I hear its a little warm.

  20. There is a very disturbing account of the medical team led by Marzulli. They knew there was a small implant in this man's thigh. They had seen it and were about to remove it when the scan showed it was not there. They were unsure what to do so they prayed. Suddenly it was revealed by the scanner so they removed it quickly. We have not even scratched the surface of the principalities and powers we are up against. Even Michael dare not 'bring a railing accusation'. I hazard a guess that the 'items' seen and even chased that appear to move in radical ways in our skies are actually moving in and out of our reality playing games with us. I further posit that some of our agencies are in bed with dark forces - just like they were prior to the flood. They most likely had corrupted all flesh by DNA meddling and Greek Mythology may in facet not be all myth. That people were far smarter before the flood and had been taught angelic ways that were contrary to God's wishes beggars the imagination. We MUST tread carefully and stay in the Shadow of the Almighty's wings and His Protection.

  21. Discovering God's ways is like going to an art exhibit of an Artist with the most creative genius. His ways are above our own. They are to be admired, pondered upon...and allowed to penetrate into our consciousness...until we understand the intent, style, and ways of the Artist. The messages, seemingly very hidden and deeply woven into the art, strike you as you let your gaze penetrate into the brush strokes of the Master. But God's ways begin with a backdrop. Here in Quebec there is an artist who always paints his canvas black before doing anything else. It gives his colours a unique contrast...giving it an unmistakable signature so that you can tell his paintings from others right away. God does something similar but in an much larger way of course. God's backdrop is love. Everything that He paints ...He does so on the canvas...His canvas...which is love. Next comes the setting. We could liken this to the things that others are set against....like say the mountains in the background. These are the laws that God orders everything in. Without these laws...nothing in the foreground has any context or relevance. NO, God's paintings are not just for show...they support all life. But life has order. It follows laws. Without order there would be only chaos. In fact, the order is so precise that one can see the Artist in every living thing. Everything moves and is according to His laws.

  22. Now the title of the painting is "holiness unto the Lord". Everything on the painting is in connection with God's purpose and His glory. Now we lesser artists seek other things with our artistry...with titles as mundane as "how to get saved in one easy step"...or...this is why I justify myself"...or "how to enjoy your best possible life." In short, the titles are very self-absorbed..having no artistic content to think of. Sure these are creative...but not at all like the Master. Until we learn better...our canvases are covered with "self" ...and what is painted on these are the things WE find useful for ourselves. We tend to prefer what we can make for ourselves than to see our walks in God. Here and there we add in some love in for show, or effect...but always with the background of self....that is until we allow our gaze to sink deeply into the painting of God. Our inspiration is His artistry IF we are to find our place in His work. Usually we are looking for His place in our work. We like a little advice...but we are looking for recognition ....justification...for being our own artist. We don't want to be criticized. We don't want to give up our own artistry. We want God to come help us with OUR painting. But God won't do that. He is love...but not an enabler of that which isn't holy and eternal in love. So it is best, at the risk of the pouting of frustrated artists... to deny helping these on their own terms. No, the only canvas that brings life..is God's. All other canvases will be thrown away...to the frustration of many would-be artists. The cry is...why create me with a desire to be creative...only to have me submit to a higher Creator. Where's my freedom?
    1 point
  23. Enter free will and mankind who doesn't necessarily care to be subject to God the great Artist...and who see themselves as artists in their own right. When we spill paint on our canvas...it is just a mess. But God knows how to weave our spills into His masterpiece. He knows how to make ALL things work together for good. His artistry is on a level whereby our chaos does not deter God's abilities as an Artist in the slightest way. He weaves every blot and stroke into a wonderful mosaic of colour and beauty. Now set before His laws He paints in grace as the skies....but without covering up His laws. How does He do this? When many of us try to paint grace onto our canvases...it covers up the laws so as to make them disappear. But not God. His ways are not our ways. Set in the foreground...before the gaze of the mountains of law and under the skies of grace... is where God has purposed for us to live and walk before Him. There are many walks of life to be seen as one looks from end to end of His painting. They are as varied as the possibilities of form and colour. But always with the same background of law and the same atmosphere of grace. And all of this on a canvas of love. Striving to apprehend that for which I have been apprehended by Christ Jesus.

  25. It’s a question of the will. Either you have a will towards righteousness or a will towards unrighteousness. This is a moment by moment willing. We as those that were born from Adam can’t choose directly to do good, for our wills are fallen also, and will eventually choose evil. But this is where the absolute greatness of our salvation in Christ shows up. We, with are fallen wills, can choose to deny our own wills and trust another ( Christ) to do all in us and for us that needs to be done if we are to walk in newness of life, all it takes is a will or desire to it. This life of continual trusting in God’s love for us is the life of faith we have been called to. This moment by moment looking away from our wants, needs, desires to the one that proved His love for us by pouring out His life on the cross that we might be sharers of that life. This is a moment by moment growing into this new creation. It matters not your particular situation or station in life it all means nothing. The only thing that means anything is if you are acting out of yourself or Christ. In big and small circumstances, in all circumstances are you doing righteousness, if not, you are acting out from self and self is not Christ for Christ always acts according to righteousness. This is the perfection we have been called to. A growing into this perfection, as scripture says “here a little there a little”. God works at His own speed, in His own ways, but He has promised to perfect that which concerns us, if just our wills would continually be turned towards Him moment by moment each and every second of the day. Even when we are deep in concentration we are turned toward self or Christ, (righteousness or unrighteousness,) the choice always stands before us. For Christ really did die for us that we might walk in newness of life. Let us take Him up on His offer and walk in newness of life that we might bless His heart so that He might be able to bless all we put are hands to. Blessings, Much love in Christ, Not me

  26. Wow! What a mouth full! Wow, I got no words to say but, Wow! The doors of Heaven have been opened wide to you. “Walk before Me and be thou perfect” says the God of love to all those that would have a heart willing to pay this price. Blessings as we come to know by experience the truth of this truth. That this truth to “reckon ourselves dead unto sin and alive unto God” is indeed the most blessed and awesome command ever given for in it is the all of our salvation in Christ. Oh as our hearts cry out for the simplicity of the Gospel of Christ that says; ”all of Him and nothing of me” As each day we grow into a deeper and deeper understanding by experience of this truth, our hearts rejoice and exploded at the hope of the knowledge of Him that is to come. 28. You're absolutely correct. You're very close to the path I was heading pertaining to the traditional Jewish wedding customs; comparing those mirror image customs and acts to what we're are told about the Rapture and watching for it. That was in addition to what you mentioned. I wasn't going to mention anything about fermented wine or go there. 1 Timothy 5:23 (KJV) Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. The above verse sounds like something a doctor might prescribe, such as Luke. It's evident sanitation was poor back then and water contamination was prevalent. Stomachaches, disease and illnesses were brought about by poor cooking methods and contaminated water. Just like today, a little wine would sooth and help the symptoms. But in this modern day and age; I use "Tums" for the tummy

  31. I'm not sure what answer you are looking for, but I've also thought the whole things is about Christ's ability to transform individuals. I'll have to say that where I am from, whenever I here a sermon on the miracle, the speakers usually get hung up on "was the wine alcoholic or not". Hence, getting the main message of that passage pushed under arguments that only lead to division. Jesus turned the water that was meant for ceremonial and physical cleansing into wine. Wine that was unlike anything anyone tasted before. I think Jesus did this to show - and of course, it's hindsight that sees this - I think he did this to symbolize that he and he alone can change a person from lost to saved, from in bondage to the law to freedom in Him, from the old to the new. And I think the proof of that is that he started with empty vessels - HUGE vessels - that were empty. He had the servants fill them with water first. He didn't have to do that. He could have said, "Bring me those pots." But in filling them with water - for purification - first, THEN transforming it to incredibly perfect wine....hence the transforming power of Christ.

It makes me angry and weepy - two places I don't like to be. My apologies again for hastily speaking about leaving. I want to stay, but I just will not come back to this topic. Peace to you. jayne

  34. No single verse explains everything. The spirit and the breath are two different things. Some texts that show this: Job 33:4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. Isaiah 42:5 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein. 36. Matthew 14:23 And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, Here in Israel, cell phones are all the rage. You wouldn't believe it but parents even buy cell phones for their kids and send them to school with them in their schoolbags. I'm talking about six and seven-year-old kids! While it is true that part of the reason for this cell phone craze stems from the fact that violence goes on here daily and people want to be able to contact one another in the event of an emergency, I would still say that it's somewhat excessive. Mark Twain was once asked to record a Christmas message on an early gramophone. This is what he said, "It is my heart-warm and world-embracing Christmas hope and aspiration that all of us, the high, the low, the rich, the poor, and admired, the despised, the loved, the hated, the civilized, the savage--every man and woman of us all throughout the whole earth--may eventually be gathered in a heaven of everlasting rest and peace and bliss, except the inventor of the telephone." Not that technology is a bad thing, but I think we have become entirely too dependent on it! Telephones, cell phones, televisions, computers, X-Boxes, MP3's. what's next?! Sometimes I feel like we just need to go back to the basics. Put all those things away in a closet somewhere and just sit down with the Word and with our Father. He wants to whisper in our ears sweet words of encouragement and wisdom. He wants to tell us of His wonderful plans for our lives and reveal to us the extraordinary mysteries of His Kingdom. But this can't happen if we're too busy taking calls! So let's spend the weekend -- disconnecting from the world -- and reconnecting with our creator ... perhaps He'll give us a fresh revelation ... if we will take the time to listen! The post Hello? 37. The Tabernacle for dwelling. `Let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. According to the pattern of the Tabernacle and the furnishings, just so you shall make it.` (Ex. 25: 8 & 9) `And the word became flesh and dwelt (Tabernacled) among us, and we beheld His glory,..` (John 1: 14) “Behold the Tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them,..` (Rev. 21:3) In the sphere of typology no figurative structure exists that expresses such a wide range of illumination and instruction as does the tabernacle and its services. This model was a miniature in material form of the Messiah`s many ministries. The Lord gave to Moses, in the plan a set of signs, symbols and shadows which foretell of the true substance - Christ and His ministry. The ritual portrayed the function of the priest, king and prophet, and the Son of Man operates in these three offices. The purpose of the Tabernacle was as a sanctuary for God to dwell with His people. The vehicle for God dwelling was the Ark of the Covenant. This Ark, with the mercy seat in the holy of holies, prefigures Christ. Christ came to represent the God of mercy in the character of a merciful and faithful high priest. `Therefore, in all things he had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God,…` (Heb. 2: 17) So when Christ the true `tabernacle ` of God was manifest on earth we read - `And the word became flesh and dwelt (Tabernacled) among us, and we beheld His glory,..` (John 1: 14)

Shalom, David/BeauJangles 1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. KJV

  40. Peter , talking to saved Believers, talked about “ the sins that so easily beset is” .Paul discussed at length about God’s “chastisement” for Believers that persisted in sin. John said “ if we say we have no sin, we call God a liar”. Sin should and will show a decline when you are “ born again”, meaning God has given you a new Spirit as a result of you coming to Him as a lost sinner, with faith in His Son.You will spend the rest of your earthly life in a battle between the New Nature which can not sin, and your old Adamic Nature which still wants to hold on to the pleasures of sin, which are only pleasurable “ for a season”. I have heard it put this way. There is a white dog and a black dog inside you and the one you feed the most will have the dominance in your life.Feed the white dog by staying in God’s Word and becoming a man of faith.I pray that God grant you wisdom in these matters.....you will be in my prayers .God bless.

  41. 1 Thes. 5:16-18 Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. As we enter into Holocaust Remember Day in Israel, and many in the United States are praying as it enters its 65th annual National Day of prayer, I'm reminded of a story by Corrie Ten Boom, a Christian survivor who protected Jews during World War 2. In her book “The Hiding Place” Corrie ten Boom relates an incident that taught her always to be thankful. She and her sister Betsy had just been transferred to the worst German prison camp they had seen yet, called Ravensbruck. The barracks were extremely overcrowded and horribly flea-infested. After their scripture reading in 1st Thessalonians that morning, where the Lord reminded them to rejoice always, pray constantly, and give thanks in all circumstances. Betsy suggested they stop and thank the Lord for every detail of their new living quarters. At first, Corrie was appalled by the idea. She flatly refused to give thanks for that smelly, dirty, flea-ridden place. But Betsy persisted -- and Corrie finally succumbed to her pleadings. It was by a miracle of God that Corrie and Betsy were able to smuggle their Bible into the camp. If the guards found out that the women were holding nightly Bible studies in their barracks, they surely would have been punished harshly, maybe even killed. During the months they spent at that camp, however, no guard ever said one word. It was not until several months later that they learned the reason why the guards would hardly ever come into their barracks. They wouldn't enter the barracks because of the fleas!! Perhaps you're dealing with some difficult circumstances today. But who knows? There may be a purpose beyond our understanding! Let's choose trust the Lord and maintain an attitude of thankfulness in every situation, no matter how hard it may be! 44. Leviticus 23:10-12 "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: 'When you come into the land which I give to you, and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest. He shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, to be accepted on your behalf; on the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. And you shall offer on that day, when you wave the sheaf, a male lamb of the first year, without blemish, as a burnt offering to the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:20-23 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming. This season of the Resurrection also occurs during a significant Old Testament feast day, the feast of “Firstfruits” (Hebrew, “bikoreem”). When Yeshua (Jesus) rose from the dead he was the firstfruit of the resurrection. On that day the keys of Hell and Death were obtained by our Lord. The apostle Paul connected the resurrection with the feast of Firstfruits in his letter to the congregation at Corinith. "But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep." Remember in the Garden of Gethsemane that all the disciples had fled in terror because of their connection with Yeshua. Yet not much later they experienced an astounding transformation which empowered them to preach the gospel fearlessly and face all kinds of suffering and martyrdom. What inspired this transformation? The resurrection... the living, breathing Lord who appeared to them in a glorious resurrected body. No longer were they concerned about this life, having experienced the reality that death's power had been absolutely overcome and there was nothing remaining in this world to threaten or shake their complete confidence in eternal life. The letter of James identifies believers in Jesus as "a kind of firstfruits of all He created"; [James 1:18]. Through our faith In the Lord's resurrection, we have received His Holy Spirit and gained His resurrection life and power. It is a power over the fear of death, an overcoming power which enables us to endure and triumph over every kind of threat, problem, affliction, every trial or test involving suffering, pain, even the greatest anguish this life can bring. It's the same power that filled the Lord's disciples and transformed them from terrified men into fearless witnesses. We are no longer bound by the circumstances of our lives – but, as "firstfruits" who share in the resurrection life of our Lord, are empowered to endure, be transformed by, and ultimately overcome everything we face. Paul exults in this wondrous triumph, “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." And then he offers this exhortation, "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” We are the “bikoreem”, the "firstfruits" of the resurrection and we are no longer bound by the troubles and problems of this world. We can "count them all joy" as "steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord" we know that our labor is not in vain! 45. Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. The Biblical feast of Pesach (Passover) will begin later this week, those who will celebrate remind themselves of the deliverance of the Jewish people from the land of Egypt where they had served as slaves. The word for slaves in Hebrew is "avadim", which, interestingly, is also the same word for "servants." Pesach recalls to us our own personal deliverance from the slavery of sin -- and the amazing joy and privilege of being free to be servants of the Living God who redeemed us. The same root letters which form the words for "slave" and "servant" also give us the word "avodah", the Hebrew word for "work", which is also a word that means "worship"! To be a freed SLAVE of our God is to be a devoted SERVANT whose WORK is WORSHIP. So, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." [Colossians 3:23-24] The post You've Been Freed to Worship! appeared first on Worthy Christian Devotional - Daily Devotions. Read the entire devotional.

  47. Esther 4:14 For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Last night began the feast of Purim, which celebrates the deliverance of the Jewish people from one of many of Satan's attempts to purge them from the world. Mordechai gave Esther a great challenge then, "and who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such as time as this?" This is a challenge for all of us! As each generation is raised up, God appoints men and women to rise up to the challenge of that age. We are alive in this day and in this hour (an amazing day and hour, at that) and God is saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" He is awaiting those who will come forward and say "Hineni" here am I, in Hebrew! And if we fall short of this challenge, "deliverance may arise from another place!" Let's not let that happen -- God wants to use us! Let's rise to the occasion! God has great things ahead! The post Time to Step Up! appeared first on Worthy Christian Devotional - Daily Devotions.
