  1. Take this parable to heart. Let's say I'm throwing a big party and am inviting the world to the party (the forums) and I want everyone to have a great time, eating (reading through posts being fed), drinking (being encouraged to walk in His Word), and having fellowship with one another. In Israel, we have Shabbat meals -- and whenever you have 2 Jews -- you have 3 opinions -- it's GREAT to be opinionated. I encourage discussions ... but during our Shabbat meals ... we never ever get to the point in disagreements whereby food is being tossed and seriously yelling takes place! And if someone comes into the meal ... and starts throwing food ... and yells at everyone -- what do you suppose the head of the Shabbat meal will do? He'll escort those causing problems out of the house! Why? Because the whole reason for the gathering was to learn from one another ... to have a great time of fellowship! Some people like to constantly throw food and yell ... they won't last on Worthy ... because they missed the point of the party ... it's a prequel to the true party -- the Lamb's Supper! All I'm trying to provide is a place to allow true fellowship ... and discussions in love ... in the hopes it will be a catalyst for true REVIVAL based on REPENTANCE!

  2. Shalom everyone, I just wanted you all to know that it's been an extremely busy month for me in Israel. We had a conference in Jerusalem during the week of Pentecost. In the past month, we had a member of the congregation that suffered a stroke. Also, one of the anchors of the movement in Israel just passed away, which has taken my time away from the ministry. There is way too much going on in the land ... with the threat of a war with Iran, and trying my best to pastor and do the things I normally do. When I come to Worthy and find 20+ reported threads ... that's TIME in my daily routine that I really need these days. I posted this in another thread that I had to spend a good 30 minutes cleaning up. Do yourself a favor ... if you can't discuss something in love ... then simply don't let a forum board steal your joy! Seriously! I want you to think about this ... God created a HOLY people. What is Kadosh in Hebrew -- which is translated HOLY? It means SEPARATED for Himself! What SEPARATES us from the world? In the Old Testament -- it was keep SHABBAT (Sabbath) and following God's instructions! What is God doing now? Creating for himself a HOLY NATION through YOU! 1 Peter_2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. What makes US separated from the World? Is it the commandments? Well, it's DEEPER THAN THAT! Rom 13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. Rom 13:9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Rom 13:10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Rom 13:11 Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. Rom 13:12 The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. You can become so legalistic -- that you believe you're HOLY -- but in essence have no love -- you're missing the POINT! The thing that makes us SEPARATED from the world -- is OUR LOVE for ONE ANOTHER! And how we love our ENEMIES! The reality is simply this -- LEARN TO LOVE -- and the first step is learning how to discuss things with one another in LOVE! This is OBJECT of the lesson. If you can't discuss in love with those you disagree with ... you'll find yourself on Mod Review. I don't BAN anyone ... and I don't shut down discussions without a good reason. So please ... take the lesson to heart ... be a HOLY people and learn what should truly separate us from the world! Joh 17:21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. Joh 17:22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, Joh 17:23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. God bless, George

  3. What a lovely way of putting it @George I can see why you are gifted for ministry. Love the way you say this is a prequel to the big party - The Lord's Supper! Yay! Oh how marvellous! Especially for people like me, who live in the middle of nowhere, and find it difficult to access a church. I have gained a lot of strength and encouragement from this forum, and to me it is my fellowship with other believers. Without this forum I wouldn't be talking to hardly any fellow believers. (Due to health and other reasons, my husband and I are planning to move, to be nearer better facilities and amenities, and I then look very much forward to be able to join a church). So, can I just say a thank you for inventing this place here. It is a God send to me. Becky.

  6. Thanks! Honestly what makes Worthy what it is ... its users. People can help immensely by reporting those things that should be reported. I'm simply a steward ... the real owner of this place is Yeshua ... I'm just trying to bring a true revival ... and that begins with repentance ... with repentance comes a true love that consumes a person to the point its easy to overlook the faults of others.

  7. Honestly if people seriously looked at what God hates maybe they wouldn't seek cause division. Pro 6:16 There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him: Pro 6:17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, Pro 6:18 a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, Pro 6:19 a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. Just so you know what God truly hates.

  8. Father we lift up George and his precious wife to You with true gratefulness for all You have called and empowered him to do and to be. We are the beneficiaries of all the work that has been put in here, and the sheer grit it has taken to preserve and nurture it. We ask that You shield them in the shadow of Your wings and fulfill the longing for true revival, for oneness among Your people and we ask You to grant him tremendous wisdom in all He seeks to do for Your Name. We ask You to lighten their load and give them rest. Please motivate those around them to pray and cover and cherish them and all they have sacrificed for and fought for and motivate them, and us to pull along side and share their burdens. I have a deep appreciation for the many years this place has stood in preparation for such a time as this. Help us to remember to pray for them and recognize the gifts that they are. We ask that You would surround them with Your protection as they seek to minister to those who currently hate You and them. We long to see all Israel restored to Your intentions and purpose for that great nation. We long to see them return to You and complete the Body. I ask You to inspire George with words of power to finish that book with. Lord You know exactly what words are left to be written and exactly how to arrange them. I ask that You make time for George to simply sit with You and let it be a time of true joy in Your presence as Your Words simply flow through him onto the pages....we need to understand the FULL good news of the Kingdom and the restoration of ALL things. Please bless Your people with the understanding You have given George and help him finish that work speedily. I ask You to give him favor with publishers and distributors and all who will be involved in publishing and distributing his work on Your behalf. Let Your Kingdom come, Your will be done in this earth as surely and completely as it is in Heaven. Please soften our hearts toward one another let George's visits here become a delight and no longer a trial. Help us to lighten his load of administration and let his time be free to minister to us out of the treasures You have sown into him. I ask You to surround him with Godly advisors possessed of Wisdom Himself. Amen

  9. I see this forum as a reflection of life. There are some solid mature Christians, some not so mature and wayward in their beliefs, there are some who are brand new to this life and need to be brought up like one would a child, and there are those who carry the title of Christian, but are not. I am not going to even try to distinguish who is who, just that this site allows me to nurture my faith so I can deal with the same issues in my personal life, be it something I am going through or something someone else is going through. Try to look through the words being typed and see the real person on the other side. Some who are angry and hateful are also suffering for some reason. I have rarely met anyone who is spiteful because the love being spiteful, but I have met a few in the years I have been alive. Rare as they may be, we also see them here. George, you have done a lot of work behind the scenes here and we can see it. Praying your load become much lighter.

  10. Worthy is one of the best Christian forums. I like it a lot. I wish the members could see it as the body of christ meeting together on this forum. We are a people who have wash our robes in the blood of christ. We belong to christ. Who loved us and gave up himself for us. We need to have the same mind that Jesus had. Men will know if we are his if we love one another. Otherwise we are just like the world. Also it's easy to lose perspective when we have debates on biblical topics. Let's be alert and aware of how we treat one another while we debate.

  13. I have been thinking about this very thing so much lately. Including today. I think, myself, that there will be a Heavenly language. I also think we'll be called by a different name. I don't think my name will be Rebecca up there. I also can't imagine us all talking in our worldly native language, ie; English. Our languages are a man-made invention, and everything up there will be God created. Love, Becky. X

  17. George, if I may. When I came to this forum, I got a very fast witness from Him that this place has only begun to fulfill all He intends to do through it. I know it's been a trial to manage and monitor at times, but I am fully confident His plans are for this place to shine brighter and brighter as the world around us continues to descend into deeper and deeper darkness. I pray for you and for this place to become all He has called both to be. I think we all have appointed "specialties" in Him, plans of good works He established and appointed for each of us from before the world was even made. I personally have a heart for some who come from backgrounds so foreign to most Christian's experience, most local churches are afraid of them and reject them. I believe He showed me He desires this place to be a place those can come and actually receive the love and support they cannot usually find in local churches. When I saw, and even got caught up in the argumentative, divisive tones so common I almost despaired of believing He would make this a safe place for people who have been broken in unimaginable ways for most of us...and almost left myself. He kept me here. The witness on my heart was to pray and fight to see Him cause this place to become what He wants it to be. It certainly made me take a hard look at myself and get a few things right with Him. Which of course He knew I needed too i guess I have noted that we have numerous people signing up, and never posting more than a few times....while the number of posters on in the past 24hrs never seems to grow. I suspect many have taken a look, seen the hatred and vitriol and just left again. The part of the harvest field my heart lies in consists of some of the most abused people this earth has ever known. They cannot reveal what they have experienced in the environment we have seen extant here. They are a people He is calling out of some of the darkest places satan has managed to construct to date. They NEED His people to come along side them and give good counsel, walk with them, enter into their suffering and support them while He completes their walk into the liberty He has appointed for them. They have been abused enough, and more harsh judgementalism is just more abuse heaped upon a lifetime of abuse. He will not bring them here while that remains such a prominent characteristic of our conversation with one another. Yet, I am seeing those (He points them out to me) now posting in greater numbers..... Please be encouraged, you are prayed for, and this place WILL become all He has laid on your heart to see it manifest for the sake of His Name and advancement of His Kingdom. Sorry if that was long winded...but I honestly do believe this is an important step and He will bless it.

Oh what a tender, compassionate friend, He met the need of my heart, shadows dispelling, with joy I am telling, He made all the darkness depart." Heaven came down and Glory filled my soul, when at the Cross, my Saviour made me whole. My sins were washed away(washed away) and my night was turned to day, heaven came down and Glory filled my soul. "Now I've a hope that will surely endure, after the passing of time, I have a future in heaven for sure, there in those mansions sublime. And it's because of that wonderful day, when at the Cross I believed, riches eternal and blessings supernal, from His precious hands I received." Heaven came down....

Most antivirus systems will let you enter the age and sex of children and permit you to limit access to known sites. eg, for a 12 year old girl it will stop access to porn sites, violent games etc etc You can also set time limits for how l;ong they can access the internet.

  29. Scientologists have many strange beliefs. It's a cult totally removed from Christianity. Just several things about them: They will deprogram (audit) a person, but they charge alot of money for doing that! As a person goes higher and higher in the organization, the beliefs get stranger and stranger. In upper levels, members are finally told aliens inhabit them. The leadership is extremely controlling and can be punishing as well...even separating families. Their founder, L. Ron Hubbard, said he was abducted by aliens. He also said a good way to make money is by making a religion.

  30. Yes everything miraculous is a teaching tool, from creation via Jesus resurrection to the 2nd coming. They all didn't happen. Er if that is true just what is Christianity? Is Paul correct in saying that if Jesus did not rise from the dead, literally and physically we have no forgiveness of sins? If Jesus did rise from the dead, what is so hard to belief that God could do everything the bible says?

  31. Like others have already mentioned, Sunday, or any day you decide to gather/assemble with other believers for fellowship, prayer and worship, bible study, is what ever you make it. If you were a member of my church (assembled believers), you wouldn't have a chance. You would have to get up early, to get to your hour of bible study first, unless like my wife, earlier, to prepare the room because she's the teacher. After bible study, in the assembly, listen to various leaders making announcements concerning children activities, church school, kid camps, men's prayer breakfast, men's work day, etc, etc. Then, worship, singing, and a message from our pastor. Monday is visitation. Wednesday morning women's bible study, Wednesday night supper (most times) and fellowship and pastor study massage. Saturday is men's work day and fellowship.(maybe breakfast) This does not include a bazillion other activities, available to whomever is led. (We drink plenty coffee!) Visitation, shut in visits, nursing home visits, elderly home repair, church grounds improvement and maintenance, etc. This whole week, my wife, and daughter, and granddaughter, participate in Vacation bible school. (Every year) They spent the last two weeks getting their classroom outrageously decorated (jungle theme) for the kids. There may be as many as two hundred kids attending, most of which never heard the gospel. Parents enjoy the half day of freedom after dropping the kids off at church. This is one of the greatest evangelism opportunity for the local community. My wife has had her own class for the last thirty five years. Think of all those sheaves The following week, many will be needed to visit parents of the children who were saved who want to be baptized. This presents another opportunity to share the gospel then with the parents. Honestly, without my weekly men's bible study, I'd feel lost out. The church is around a hundred and thirty years old. Think of all the saved souls. (all our kids:) God has a good church for you, Melinda Your works are a testimony to you 'nearness to God.'

  33. I have to disagree. The only way I have eked myself out of sinful desires, which were hounding me, is through prayer. My prayers are simple. Even laying down, I say help me God!!! I lay out my problems and sins and desires and keep on asking for help. It’s a process for me, but every good thing that happens to me seems to be an outcome of my prayers. I’m even ridiculous sometimes, but hey why not. God is good. He will answer and help you. Be persistent.

  35. When I was in college, there were 2 campus preachers who would just stand on the lawn and preach. Like any street preacher. I was not saved then and hung around folks who mocked them. I laughed along with my friends. In that way, I was a mocker myself. Jokes on me now lol. I look back and wonder, did they do any good? The word was preached. How can that not be good? If only one person was saved, is that not a good thing? They were faithful to the command given by the Lord, to spread the gospel. How is that not good?

  37. Melinda, there are a lot of people voicing those same complaints but let me respond to your last question. Heb 10:24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, Heb 10:25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. You list so many complaints about your worship experience that it appears you list those to justify your reasons (excuses) for not going. If there are that many things going on that prevent a meaningful worship time, then you need to find a Biblically based church where you can be spiritually fed. Talk with your Christian friends and see what they say about the church they attend. God bless you in these efforts.

  38. God is not our personal genie! Yet that is the way He is presented with prosperity preachers. If you 'rub Him the right way' by reciting the scriptures they teach you to use...He must 'obey your commands' and give you the blessings you demand of Him. I have a background where I was mixed up with this 'word of faith' movement. I would strongly warn all against it. I have had family damaged by it...elderly relatives milked out of much needed money from their social security checks. So sad. So disgusting.

  40. I hesitate to even post that, because I have been guilty of responding very unkindly and in verbally abusive ways on this board myself. My hands are not entirely clean. But I repented and just posted less until i could get my own house in order. It's sad to see, but evidently God views harsh words between brothers very seriously if He is saying the remedy is exclusion from the fellowship of the saints and all the comfort and protection that is supposed to provide for us. IMO a bit of a harder stance against all the bitter, angry, divisive rhetoric here will do the forum a lot of good, and it appears to be essential to establishing divine order and peace in His Body. Thanks for the effort you put into keeping this place on an even keel.

  45. Dear friends , do we realize we're living in these last days? Purpose of This Letter 1This is now, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you in which I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, 2that you should remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles. The Coming Day of the Lord 3Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, 4and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” 5For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, 6through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. 7But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. 8But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. 9The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. A New Heaven and Earth 10But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. 11Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! 13But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. 14Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless, 15and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, 16as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, 18but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

  47. When we study the Day of the Lord in the Old Testament, we see the word "destruction" time after time: God's plan is to destroy the world and the sinners in the world. We see the beginning of God destroying the world, with each trumpet judgment, and then later, each vial of God's wrath. However, There is yet another period of time to consider, and that is the 70th week of Daniel or the time called "Jacob's trouble." Remember, Jacob was TRICKED and had to work and EXTRA 7 year to marry the girl he loved. So Jacob's "trouble" means 7 years. Daniel wrote of the last half of this period of time twice, as "time, times, and the dividing of time." John then wrote of this same time period 5 more times, twice as 1260 days, twice as 42 months, and once again as time, times and half of time. All seven of these counts are speaking of the last half of Daniel's 70th week. So what is the relationship between the DAY and the week? Are they the same? No, for the WEEK lasts only 7 years, and ends, but the DAY continues on - it seems for the entire millennial reign of Christ. As I see it, the Day of the Lord begins at the 6th seal where John wrote, "the day of His wrath has come." The 70th week of Daniel will begin with the 7th seal and the 30 minutes of silence. In other words, the 70th week is found INSIDE the Day of the Lord. The 70th week will end with the 7th vial in Rev. 16, while the Day of the Lord will continue. The exact midpoint of the 70th week will be marked by the 7th trumpet. By the time the Millennial Reign begins, there will be NO unbelievers left on earth.

  48. Question: "What is the day of the Lord?" Answer: The phrase “day of the Lord” usually identifies events that take place at the end of history (Isaiah 7:18-25) and is often closely associated with the phrase “that day.” One key to understanding these phrases is to note that they always identify a span of time during which God personally intervenes in history, directly or indirectly, to accomplish some specific aspect of His plan. Most people associate the day of the Lord with a period of time or a special day that will occur when God’s will and purpose for His world and for mankind will be fulfilled. Some scholars believe that the day of the Lord will be a longer period of time than a single day—a period of time when Christ will reign throughout the world before He cleanses heaven and earth in preparation for the eternal state of all mankind. Other scholars believe the day of the Lord will be an instantaneous event when Christ returns to earth to redeem His faithful believers and send unbelievers to eternal damnation. The phrase “the day of the Lord” is used nineteen times in the Old Testament (Isaiah 2:12; 13:6, 9; Ezekiel 13:5, 30:3; Joel 1:15, 2:1,11,31; 3:14; Amos 5:18,20; Obadiah 15; Zephaniah 1:7,14; Zechariah 14:1; Malachi. 4:5) and five times in the New Testament (Acts 2:20; 1 Thessalonians 5:2; 2 Thessalonians 2:2; 2 Peter 3:10). It is also alluded to in other passages (Revelation 6:17; 16:14). The Old Testament passages dealing with the day of the Lord often convey a sense of imminence, nearness, and expectation: “Wail, for the day of the Lord is near!” (Isaiah 13:6); “For the day is near, even the day of the Lord is near” (Ezekiel 30:3); “Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand” (Joel 2:1); “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision” (Joel 3:14); “Be silent before the Lord God! For the day of the Lord is near” (Zephaniah 1:7). This is because the Old Testament passages referring to the day of the Lord often speak of both a near and a far fulfillment, as does much of Old Testament prophecy. Some Old Testament passages that refer to the day of the Lord describe historical judgments that have already been fulfilled in some sense (Isaiah 13:6-22; Ezekiel 30:2-19; Joel 1:15, 3:14; Amos 5:18-20; Zephaniah 1:14-18), while others refers to divine judgments that will take place toward the end of the age (Joel 2:30-32; Zechariah 14:1; Malachi 4:1, 5). The New Testament calls it a day of “wrath,” a day of “visitation,” and the “great day of God Almighty” (Revelation 16:14) and refers to a still future fulfillment when God’s wrath is poured out on unbelieving Israel (Isaiah 22; Jeremiah 30:1-17; Joel 1-2; Amos 5; Zephaniah 1) and on the unbelieving world (Ezekiel 38–39; Zechariah 14). The Scriptures indicate that “the day of the Lord” will come quickly, like a thief in the night (Zephaniah 1:14-15; 2 Thessalonians 2:2), and therefore Christians must be watchful and ready for the coming of Christ at any moment. Besides being a time of judgment, it will also be a time of salvation as God will deliver the remnant of Israel, fulfilling His promise that “all of Israel will be saved” (Romans 11:26), forgiving their sins and restoring His chosen people to the land He promised to Abraham (Isaiah 10:27; Jeremiah 30:19-31, 40; Micah 4; Zechariah 13). The final outcome of the day of the Lord will be that “the arrogance of man will be brought low and the pride of men humbled; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day” (Isaiah 2:17). The ultimate or final fulfillment of the prophecies concerning the day of the Lord will come at the end of history when God, with wondrous power, will punish evil and fulfill all His promises. https://www.gotquestions.org/day-of-the-Lord.html

  49. First off, some corrections are necessary, such as the rendering of the King James Bible and other Bibles (such as the New American Standard Bible used here) for 2 Peter 3 as well as many other Scriptures. The words: "Where is the promise of his coming ?" is not what was accurately written by the apostle Peter, but rather "Where is this promised presence of his ?" Peter did not use the Greek word for "coming", erchomai (that Jesus used at Matt 16:28, 24:30, 26:64), but rather parousia, that means "presence" (that Jesus used at Matt 24:3, 37, 39). In speaking of "the last days", the apostle Peter tied it in with Jesus "promised presence", and of which he described how many would react to the thought that "the last days" are real, ridiculing it, saying: "Where is this promised presence of his ? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing exactly as they were from creation's beginning".(2 Pet 3:4; New World Translation) So, the question is - When did "the last days" begin, Jesus "promised presence" ? The churches have no answer. Yet the Bible provides the answer, as at Daniel 4. There Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar had a dream of an enormous tree whose "top reached the heavens, and it was visible to the ends of the whole earth".(Dan 4:10, 11) Some time earlier, in about the year 605 B.C.E.(Dan 2:1, Nebuchadnezzar's 2nd year here is counted from after the destruction of Jerusalem in 607 B.C.E., not from his regnal year when he ascended to the throne in 624 B.C.E.), Nebuchadnezzar had a dream of an "immense image" of a man that portrayed a series of world powers starting with ancient Babylon ("head of gold") down to our time frame that ends with "the feet and toes......partly of clay of a potter and partly of iron".(Britain/America, Dan 2:41) Daniel told Nebuchadnezzar "that there is a God in the heavens who is a Revealer of secrets, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what is to happen in the final part of the days".("latter days", KJV, Dan 2:28) Hence, in order to grasp what is exactly meant both by "the immense image " of a man at Daniel 2 and of the "enormous tree" at Daniel 4, it is vital that a time line is established. Elsewise, ambiguity remains and nothing is really understood. In the dream of the "enormous tree", an angel commands that it be cut down.(Dan 4:13) What was it that was "cut down" ? God's rulership through David's lineage. God made a promise with David for "the covenant for a kingdom" that is to last forever (2 Sam 7:16), coming through the tribe of Judah.(Gen 49:10) God ensured that David's lineage would continue even when Israelite kings were wicked.(1 Kings 11:36; 2 Kings 8:19) However, this rulership was interrupted in 607 B.C.E., when King Nebuchadnezzar overthrew Jerusalem and took king Zedekiah back to Babylon.(2 Kings 25:7) When was the "enormous tree" that pictured God's rulership by means of a representative king "cut down" ? Ezekiel 21 speaks of this rulership, saying: "But your day has come, O fatally wounded, wicked chieftain of Israel (king Zedekiah), the time of your final punishment. This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah says: ' Remove the turban, and take off the crown. This will not remain the same. Raise up the low one (Jesus Christ), and bring low the high one (king Zedekiah). A ruin, a ruin, a ruin I will make it (God's rulership through Zedekiah). And it will not belong to anyone until the one who has the legal right comes, and I must give it to him".(Eze 21:25-27) This "him" is Jesus Christ, but when did he receive "the crown" ? When "the last days" began. Now back to Daniel 4 that gives a time line for Jesus Christ to take up rulership of God's Kingdom. It was interrupted in 607 B.C.E. "until the one who has the legal right comes". The "enormous tree" was "cut down" and then its stump was banded with "iron and of copper.......until seven times pass over it".(Dan 4:23) This showed that God's rulership through his representatives was broken for a time, but would again come forth, that "the one who has the legal right", Jesus Christ, would receive kingly power (Dan 7:13, 14) and thus begin "the final part of the days". Hence, how long is "the seven times" counting from 607 B.C.E. ? Each "time" was 360 days, so "the seven times" would be 2,520 days. But there is more to this, for "the seven times" is not based on days but rather on years, based on the principle at Numbers 14:34 and Ezekiel 4:6, "a day for year, a day for year". So, 2,520 years from 607 B.C.E when God's representative rulership was interrupted, reached down to the year 1914 C.E. and of which began "the last days" and the enthronement of Jesus Christ as king of God's Kingdom.(Rev 6:1, 2) Soon, we will see Jesus "coming (Greek erchomai) on the clouds of heaven (or invisible) with power and great glory" (Matt 24:30), to bring "vengeance on those who do not know God (whose personal name is Jehovah, Ps 83:18) and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus".(2 Thess 1:8)

  50. The 'day of the Lord', appears to be final judgment day. It's also called the Great White Throne. The OT tends to speak of it as a day when God destroys his enemies in one final decisive battle so one wonders if this happens at the return of Christ.
