    • The things in the Bible ain't necessarily so.....
      By Esther4:14 · Posted
So, e.w. bullinger's description of the account of Jonah suggests that Jonah does actually die in the belly of the fish and is almost a literal comparison to the resurrection of Christ; minus the fact that Christ has been transformed back into a body that will never die when He was resurrected, and Jonah would die again at some point like Lazarus would even though Jesus brought him back to his life in the flesh.  I do not know why you couldn't have just said that, but okay I found it.  Thanks.

The Lord comes with His army to judge & make war against all rebellious mankind.   `And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white & clean, followed Him on white horses.`(Rev. 19: 14)   Who are these heavenly armies? There has been much confusion & error concerning them. However as we study the scriptures carefully, God`s word clearly tells us who they are. Jesus said:    `they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power & great glory.  And He will send His angels...` (Matt. 24: 30 & 31)  `When the Son of Man comes in His glory, & all the Holy Angels with Him...` (Matt. 25: 31) `the Son of man ...comes in His own glory, & in His Father`s glory & in the glory of the Holy Angels.` (Luke 9: 26)     Some other scriptures speak of the Lord coming with His holy ones to do battle against the nations.    `Then the Lord, my God, will come, & all the holy ones with Him.`   (Zech. 14: 5  NAS)  `Behold the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones.`  (Jude v. 14  NAS)    Holy ones – from the Heb. `quodos,`  sacred, holy.    From the Gk. `hagio,` also sacred, holy.     Most Bible interpretations have `holy ones` or `holy angels,` however a couple of versions have written `saints,` & this has caused some confusion. However if we read all scriptures on this subject it becomes quite clear that it is the Lord Jesus, Israel`s Messiah, coming to earth with His Holy Angels to make war & to deliver Israel.     This heavenly angelic army is described as wearing garments of fine linen that are white & clean. This is the description of the angels previously coming out of the temple in heaven. They symbolically had garments also of linen, white & clean. This was to distinguish them as holy angels & not demonic angels.                        `linen` from the Gk word `katharos,` - clean, clear, pure.     Thus this heavenly army, the angelic hosts, are God`s holy angelic army that comes with the Lord Jesus Christ in power & great glory.   Marilyn.

You can see how far left the US has been dragged when it becomes an act of extremism to enforce the law. -- The President is the real extremist because he's the first executive to refuse to enforce laws he disagrees with. You're take on this B_E is that people should just ignore the law because they feel it is unjust and unfair. That is not the society we live in or want to live in.  There is a process for changing the law and until a law is changed or repealed it must be followed.  Otherwise, if one group can get away with violating/ignoring the law, another group will try the same thing, then another group and another group, until you have cops being murdered in cold-blood and cities set on fire. -- Rioting, Assaults, Murder, these are all things that occur when even fundamental laws that govern society aren't enforced. You seem to be somewhat of an anarchist and I'm trying to figure out how you are able to reconcile that with your Christianity. http://www.wnd.com/2015/08/needed-a-return-to-the-rule-of-law/

He is thinking ahead to his presidential library.  He imagines seeing a special nook showing another one of his accomplishments.  People will file by seeing a picture of Mt. McKinley with a new name attached to it.  They will not be impressed at all. How much will it cost to change all the history books?

If Mr. Ramos wants to interview the candidate one-on-one, then he needs to schedule one.  There, he can ask as many questions as he wants.  But, when in a press conference, where he could be with over a hundred of his peers, he needs to be fair to his colleagues/peers.  Everyone has a valid question and credentials to be there and he really was taking more time from the press conference than he was entitled to. Mr. Ramos was disrespectful to the candidate and his peers.  The candidate runs the press conference, not the journalist, and Mr. Ramos should have taken Mr. Trumps dismissal professionally.  He was chastened and allowed back in the press conference.  But, he and other journalists need to understand that the candidate can revoke their credentials without question, should they choose to. I wonder if Mr. Ramos has the courage to do that to his government.

Thanks , Deborah , for pointing this out . On the basis of the words of Jesus which you have quoted I can only say that I was wrong in regarding the Book of Jonah as a parable . I take Jesus at his word , and now believe that there is historical truth , and not just parable , in the Book of Jonah , otherwise Jesus would not have said what you quoted him as saying . I was wrong on this issue .

It is normally impossible for a man to convince 20 others to do what he wants them to do, imagine convincing almost 500 people ... obviously its not the pastor, its the devil... I believe they need prayers.

The mountain was renamed 98 years ago by an act of Congress.  Seems kind of a petty thing to create a controversy over, or is the President intentionally poking Congress and the US in the eye every chance he gets?  If you want to know what a real megalomaniac is, look no further than President Barry Soetero.

There is a gread mental and emotional reward for blaming the Devil. Even thought damaging, if we fail to see out shortcomings and we don't do  anything about them, and we may suffer mental distortions, and we see the devil in everything and everywhere, when is just us, with our moods and emotions.
