What if you didn't have to grow old, or at least not grow old so fast? Does anyone realize that is possible now? The future is here, literally.     And it's amazing.  And I'm living it.

Well see I don't think that's where it ends. What are we going to do, just allow people to tear it down, blow it up, etc? Are we going to man it 24 hours a day?  How many people is that going to take?   How are they going to be armed? Are we going to kill people who try to attack it?   Once you put up a wall, that's just the beginning.
    • Why the 2 Witnesses in Rev. will be hated by the whole world?

I mean that aside from nonbelievers Christians too don't want to listen usually because they think they are too great someone else to tell them the truth. Many Christians I met don't care of no apocalypse and those who say that care have some already created idea in their head of who could tell them the truth, that's why I told someone today that for Christians the witnesses exist only as part of the biblical text, they don't need living prophets but endless riddles and puzzles for their minds.

Regardless of whether one supports a wall or not, I don't believe this to be the case. For instance, you would not have to have irrational growth to go along with it. The classical conservative position on something like this would be to increase tariffs to fund the building of the wall (tariffs were one of the primary forms of government income until the 20th century in the US). After that you don't really have to hire a bunch of border patrol agents to police it. You can simply rotate military units that already exist and are in garrison to cover it (which is what most countries would do). One of the constitutional functions of the government is to provide for a national defense and this would roundly fall into that category. The classical conservative position vis-a-vis a wall would be to fund it and man if if it is deemed necessary to the national defense of the nation by congress, as border security is, above all, a national defense issue. A reallocation of defense assets to cover the border is not an expansion. The one time cost of building and minor (comparatively) costs of upkeep would be justifiable as a national defense allocation. Let's say you plan on building 1700 miles of wall. As far as the initial cost (because i have seen estimates ranging from 20 billion up to 940 billion, both of which are probably whacky, as they are coming from proponents on one end and those staunchly opposed on the other), let's say this falls somewhere in the middle, say 450 billion, which seems reasonable. There are four million miles of paved road in the US that have to undergo far more upkeep than a wall ever would, so building 1700 miles of wall isn't exactly the task it is being made out to be I don't believe (China was able to build 5500 miles' worth in antiquity, we have far better technology now, to say the least).

Christians were told from the very beginning that "in the world ye shall have tribulation" (Jn 16:33), that the world would hate Christians (Jn 15:18,19), and Christians would also be persecuted and killed (Mt 24:9-13) as well as being betrayed by "one another".  This a present reality and has been a reality since the ascension of Christ. But this should not be confused with the judgements which will come upon the ungodly when the Antichrist takes control. During that time, all those who refuse to take his mark will literally be beheaded (Rev 20:4).  Those are the Tribulation Saints who will be resurrection just before the Millennium. We should also be fully aware that the various idolatries that exist around the world are indeed ONE IDOLATROUS SYSTEM, which is called Mystery Babylon.  It will have its culmination in the worship of Satan and the Beast (Rev 13:1-18).  And all idolaters will have their part in the Lake of Fire (Rev 21:8). Christians should beware of other forms of idolatry. Covetousness is called "idolatry" in Scripture, but anything and everything can become an idol if it becomes the Christian's focus instead of Christ.  For some their work is their idol. For others their families, or their homes, or even their lawns.  You can hear the lawnmowers going full blast on the Lord's Day.  There are some theological systems which have become idols also. There are some corrupt Bible manuscripts which are definitely idols.  There are some preachers who are idolized and placed on pedestals.  They can do no wrong, yet they have feet of clay. That is why the apostle John wrote "Little children, KEEP YOURSELVES FROM IDOLS" (1 Jn 5:21). Each one of us needs to examine ourselves daily to assess whether idols have crept into our lives.

If someone wanted to "conserve" the country, by not being invaded by foreigners and terrorists how would that not be conservative?  and as far as growth of federal work force that wouldnt happen conservative or no.  Contractors would be hired.

I agree with Butero about Ronald Regan.  In my neck of the woods its a common saying that Regan was the last good president this nation had.  If you watch some of his speeches on youtube  you will be amazed at what he said, and how this nation has crumbled, and how he was spot on.   I also agree with Kwik.  God aint said a word when I asked Him who to vote for.  I dont believe the elections are honest anymore anyway.  there was proof during obamas election a district in florida had about 120,000 registered voters and yet double that voted.  some of which were deceased.  Got swept under the rug.  What i see this election and in past elections is this country is looking for a savior.  Someone to fix it all.  God is the only one who makes the crooked things straight.  This country is already fallen and just blowing right thru sin after sin.  Morality is as scarce as water in the desert.  The real problem is not what everyone reads in the newspapers and watches on the news and what you hear people talking or debating.  The problem is the heart of man and without repentance... well, so far it isnt getting better is it?  If I do vote it will be for a christian.  That is if one makes it to the end of the race.  If we dont get a christian in there the devils work will be done, just as it is now.
