    • Human logic and Divine revelation
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Cor 2:14 KJB). It would appear from many posts (not just here but on any Christian forum) that quite a few Christians do not understand the limits of human logic and how they apply to Divine revelation. But the verse quoted above tells us plainly that there is a difference between the things of the Spirit and the things of the natural world. The Bible divides humans into two categories -- the natural and the spiritual. In the natural man, the soul is alive but the spirit is dead.  In the spiritual man, both the soul and spirit are alive since the Holy Spirit dwells within their spirits.  And it is the Holy Spirit who teaches spiritual things -- the things of the Spirit -- and they are discerned by the spirits of the spiritual -- hence spiritually discerned. When it comes to the Bible and Bible truth (including Gospel truth) we must begin with the understand that (1) ultimately everything is supernatural, (2) human logic will frequently be confounded, (3) many truths are to be simply received by faith, even though they appear illogical. The roots of theological Liberalism are in Rationalism -- that human reason can comprehend spiritual truths. Hence Liberalism leads to error and apostasy.  But even Christians who should know better fall into the trap of human logic in trying to comprehend God's truths. Let's take the example of the Trinity. Even though we are dealing with the Mystery of God, there are many who simply will not believe that even though God is One, the Godhead comprises the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each one is fully God, but it is not three gods, but One God. The Koran attacks the Trinity, but all the cults also attack this doctrine, and so does theological Liberalism. Again, let's take the Five Points of Calvinism.  These were basically an attempt to apply human logic to salvation, but in order to do that the sovereignty of God had to be distorted. Calvinists ask "If God wants all men to be saved why are all men not saved?" So the answer becomes this -- that God elects some for salvation and others for damnation. Again, let's take the reality of Hell.  There are many cults (as well as other heterodox beliefs) that try to apply human logic to Hell.  Since it is beyond human comprehension, they teach all kinds of errors about Hell, including Universalism and Annihilationism. What Christians should understand in this connection is that while faith and logic are not incompatible, there are limits to human logic and if we fail to see that, we will fall into doctrinal errors.
    • Wearing Eye makeup? Kohl.
I dont wear make up. Because I cant stand it on my face lol. I didnt wear it when I was unsaved either. I dont care if a woman wears it. A lot of perfume bothers me because of migraines. That I do care about. In my opinion, clothes and attitude contribute to a look of wantonness.
    • Wearing Eye makeup? Kohl.
Some religious groups forbid women wearing makeup, in fact I belonged to one such sect many years ago. Thank God He pulled me out of there ! I stumbled upon this when doing a study on Jezebel;     I looked up the Scriptures and found; Isaiah 3:16, "Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:" Jeremiah 4:30, "And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life" Proverbs 6:24–26, "To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. V. 25, Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids. V. 26, For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress7 will hunt for the precious life. Strong words by our God. The sect I was involved with for about 9 or 10 years were strict Old testament observers, even though they never really observed all the O.T laws and rituals, they only observed what the leader of the church and his ministers said, had to be observed. I was glad to be out of there and thank God for pulling me out. I'm not judging anyone, and personally I don't worry about what women wear, that's between them and God, not me! Just asking, purely out of interest, what do Christian women these days think about makeup and the wearing thereof? Interesting; The ancient Egyptians are believed to have been the first to use kohl eyeliner, and may have even used some form of chemistry to produce synthetic eye cosmetics. Most traditional kohl was black and made from lead compounds. It was typically kept in powder form in small bottles or jars, and was applied to the eyes using a small rounded or flattened implement. Traditional kohl is typically applied by first oiling the application wand, then dipping the wand into the kohl powder, then wiping the wand across the eye between nearly-closed eyelids. This manner of application tends to allow the powder to settle into the roots of the eyelashes themselves, for a less dramatic look than is available with modern kohl pencils or liquid. Today, traditionally manufactured kohl eyeliner made with lead compounds is still available in many North African nations. Some medical experts believe the use of these traditional cosmetics contributes to high rates of lead poisoning among North African peoples. Kohl is an ancient eye cosmetics, traditionally made by grinding stibnite (Sb2 S3).  It is widely used in Soutn Asiaa the Middle East, North Africa, the Horn of Africa, and parts of West Africa as eyeliner, to contour and/or darken the eyelids and as mascara  for the eyelashes. It is worn mostly by women, but also by some men and children. Kohl has also been used in India as a cosmetic for a long time. In addition, mothers would apply kohl to their infants' eyes soon after birth. Some did this to "strengthen the child's eyes", and others believed it could prevent the child from being cursed by the evil eye.   I found this; An eye liner advertisement using the name Kohl; "The kohl pencils are amazing for many uses! This is my go to pencil for the water line on many clients. They are pigmented, easy to use, and stay! If you're looking for a quality pencil, these kohl pencils are absolutely the way to go! • ORIGINAL SIN
If we go strictly by what has been taught by Christ and is revealed in Scripture: 1. Hell (the Lake of Fire) was primarily created for the Devil and his angels (who brought sin, evil, disease, destruction, decay and death into this world, by firstly rebelling in Heaven, then causing the Fall of Man, and then corrupting the human race). 2. Hell is presently in outer darkness, and ultimately all evildoers and sinners without the Savior will be cast in Hell. Death and Hades will also be cast into the Lake of Fire, along with the unholy trinity of the Devil, the Beast, and the False Prophet. 3. Hell is eternal burning, eternal torment, and eternal separation from God.  The *outcome* is that the entire universe will be cleansed from sin, evil, and unrighteousness, and there will be a New Heavens and a New Earth. 4. It is not for us to speculate on the duration of Hell, since *eternal* does mean *eternal* and God says what He means.  5. Because Hell is real and awful, God offers the gift of eternal life to all humans who repent and believe.  There is no offer to Satan and his evil angels, except a promise of eternal damnation. 6. It does not matter what humans think about Hell. God is the one who knows why Hell will exist for all eternity.  If it did not, then sin and evil would rear their ugly heads once again.

I hope this weekend to finish the book on Enoch I'm reading and start on a book on DNA.  Besides that, I'm going to enjoy my 3-day weekend with my wife, dogs and fixing my car, if the relay comes from Amazon comes in time.  I really appreciate Amazon's breath of products, customer reviews and quality service.  I might even get some shooting done at the range.  Hope you all have a safe Memorial Day weekend.

"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.  [NASB, John 15:13]
How much more is the love of Jesus for us that He laid down His life for us who were not yet His friends?  And let us never forget this Memorial Day the ultimate sacrifice of our men and women in service to this country, who put their lives on-hold, and on the line for all of us.  God bless them, their families and friends.

Let us remember on this 3-day weekend those of us whose family members and friends have made the ultimate sacrifice for our safety.  To all the men and women in service to this country, both on the battlefield and serving in some support capacity, I solute you, and respectfully ask God to bless you and your families for your service, in Jesus name I pray.
