    • True Gospel opposed by world church. Truth wins.
      By Thallasa · Posted
That is what all catholics say ,as they cannot tolerate contradictions .The overwhelming majority know nothing about the word of God ,although they will attend Mass as a 'duty' ,thinking that by following their priests or the bishop of Rome they are enacting what is necessary to 'enter the Kingdom '.  There has been a mass exode of Irish catholics from the Church ,many of whom are lost because they do not have Christ as yet but they know in their  hearts (mind) that there is something poisoned in this Church. May they find it as I have ,when I started to read only Jesus Word  , not Pauls, and then the 'light went on ' in the darkness .   As an ex catholic from a very long line of ,way back to Saint Patrick ,who taught the true word of God and how to live as christians ,I believe that the people more or less from the West held on to the  truth ,and had little or anything to do with the RCC.Just recently I found this still to be true among those who love Jesus ,they have no time at all for Rome which was forced on them .So centuries later  they or most do still feel the same . Unlike many 'protestants I do not think it would have been possible for the Church to have continued in the world as it had to do in reality without  living in the world ,and this is where reality comes in, the Church was part of the world ,but not of it   .When she was struggling she was still the Church that Christ founded ,but when after the crusades she killed the leading crusader whose name I forget , accused him and murdered and took the money which the crusaders brought back with them ,then began the descent into 'hell'   which ended up with the reformers trying to refind the Church .They did not have to be perfect ,as they were not ,but their cause was just  ,and we know what happened, from then on . Did the RCC learn the neccessary lessons ,no she did not ,and has never learned them,  still trying to bend the  truth and manipulate ,but she is losing as God's Church is now in the hearts of those who love Him  know His Word     and  follow it .   For that He has given us sites like this one, where on can talk about Jesus and His word a thing catholics seldom do ,if ever  .

Because either homosexuals are NOT born that way or they are MORE LIKELY TO COMMIT CRIMES. Logically, one of the above has to be true.
    • Reasons Christian's (evangelicals) Should Support and Vote for Bernie Sanders
      By Butero · Posted
The more I see attacks like this, the more I wonder if I am wrong not to support Donald Trump.  If you don't like him, he must be pretty good.  Still, I think Ted Cruz is a better choice, but seeing the fear and dread among liberals towards Trump makes me wonder.
    • Reasons Christian's (evangelicals) Should Support and Vote for Bernie Sanders
      By Butero · Posted
There is absolutely zero chance I would ever consider voting for Bernie Sanders or any other socialist.  I am 100 percent free market capitalist in my views.  Neither Jesus nor the Bible promotes socialism.  Jesus taught that the church should be charitable and provide alms of their own free will to help the poor.  Socialism is a system that makes the state god, and robs one group of individuals to re-distribute their wealth to others by force of law.  If it was up to me, we would gradually eliminate the welfare state, and shrink the government down to the size it was in the 1920s.  No Christian should support socialism, and I can easily go through any arguments they make to try to show how socialism lines up with scripture and prove them wrong.  I have done it before.
    • A wall separating Canada and the U.S.?
      By Butero · Posted
That is the difference.  Our relationship with Canada is different than with Mexico, and the problems we face from our southern border don't exist with our northern border.  This is just about trying to look consistent and fair.  There is no need for a wall at the Canadian border, but if we start having a flood of illegals entering the country later on from Canada, then we can discuss that as a possible solution.

Exactly.   WE are so far out from the general election that it makes no sense to me to begin holding people accountable for that kind of information at this point.  Now, if he makes it to the general election and still can't answer foreign policy questions, he has a problem.

I fully support her.  The federal judiciary, including the Supreme Court, made up a non-existent Constitutional right to gay marriage, overruling the laws of the state.  Nobody should follow those decrees.  At some point, the people of this country need to rise up and refuse to obey judicial rulings when they are clearly an abuse of power to promote a personal agenda.  As I said in another thread, lets start naming streets after her like we do for others who are guilty of civil disobedience, and make her a national hero.  For some reason, that usually only happens when the person is a liberal.  I am still waiting on Randall Terry to get his well deserved recognition.  Everyone is trying their best to discredit this woman, but I would like to see a lot more similar actions take place.
    • A serious doctrine of God's grace:
      By JohnD · Posted
We must temper our understanding of God's grace with: Ezekiel 33:18–19 (AV) 18When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. 19But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby. We tend not to consider these things when we go into the doctrines of grace. All of us try to make God's compassionate grace into a perpetual confession booth (where we sin confess sin confess sin confess ad infinitum and typically over the same sin). It is a combination of imposing on God's compassion while ignoring God's compelling us not to sin and destroy ourselves and others. In texts like Romans 7:14 - 8:39 and  1 John 1:5 - 2:17 we focus in on the forgiveness and deliverance and blot out the conditions in which they apply "if we walk in the light as he is in the light" etc. If we reminded ourselves about Ezekiel 33:18-19 as we read about the doctrines and aspects of God's forgiveness we would maintain a better, more balance understanding of what God's grace actually is. It is not a license to sin. It is not a free pass into heaven; It cost God his own blood (Acts 20:28).    This is not about loss of salvation once you are saved. Emphasis on "once you are saved." Many think they are saved that are not. Take the cults for example. But this is about making your life and others a living hell or a gracious blessing. Finally, my brothers and sisters, consider that ultimately, if we are saved but will not be swayed from our iniquity, God will take us out of this life to keep us saved: 1 Corinthians 5:5 (AV) 5To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Imagine the hell on earth for a believer which God turns over to the devil (removing his protective hedge).
    • Church Attendence
      By shiloh357 · Posted
Church attendance is down nation-wide in the US.   But I'm not surprised.   Our schools and even some people in the ministry are down playing the Bible by promoting evolution, gay marriage and teaching people that the Bible isn't inerrant and isn't an infallible rule of life.  We are seeing a shift from doctrine to a more "cultural" Christianity that doesn't really emphasize the Bible at all, but emphasizes just being a good person.   We are seeing trend away from the integrity of the Bible and fewer and fewer Christians actually read their Bible and many more do not see it as  their primary source of spiritual understanding. So...   Why go to church to study a book that you can't trust?   If the Bible got it wrong in Genesis 1, if the Bible is full of things that are no longer relevant, if the Bible is wrong about homosexuality, then what else is it wrong about?   How can we trust the Bible if it is wrong in so many places?   Those are the questions people are asking.  Since the Bible is irrelevant, church attendance, is by extension irrelevant.    So what we see in the US is that many churches are in decline. The churches that are  not in decline focus, not on the Gospel, but on entertainment and sermons based in pop psychology rather than the Word of God.
    • Trump knocks Ben Carson
      By Butero · Posted
There is no mystery.  The Trump haters are simply posting every negative thing they can find or make up.  They are not holding others to the same standard because it is personal.  If it was between Carson and Trump, I would vote for Carson, but I agree with you.  Both candidates have deficiencies, as will just about anyone in some area.  Look at how they attacked Sarah Palin in 2008 on foreign policy.  She was a Governor.  It takes time to be brought up to speed on national and international issues when your main concern has been dealing with your own state's problems.  Nobody steps into the job of President knowing everything there is to know on day one.
