This is a quiz on American historical quotes but ANYONE is welcome to answer the questions.  Btw, I missed ALL of them!  I will post the answers once there are ten responses.

Six trivia questions  to see how much history you really know.  Be honest, it's kinda fun and  revealing.  If you don't know the answer make your best guess.

Who said it?

1)  "We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common  good."

    A. Karl Marx
    B. Adolph  Hitler
    C. Joseph Stalin
    D. Barack  Obama
    E. None of the above

2) "It's time for  a new beginning, for an end to government of the few, by the few, and for the  few...... And to replace it with shared responsibility, for shared  prosperity."

    A. Lenin
    B.  Mussolini
    C. Idi Amin
    D. Barack  Obama
    E. None of the above

3) "(We).....can't  just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken  away from some people."

    A.  Nikita    Khrushev
    B.  Joseph Goebbels
   C.  Boris Yeltsin
    D. Barack  Obama
    E. None of the above

4) "We have to  build a political consensus and that requires people to give up a little bit  of their own ... in order to create this common  ground."

    A. Mao Tse Dung
    B.  Hugo Chavez
    C. Kim Jong II

   D.  Barack Obama
    E. None of the above

5) "I  certainly think the free-market has failed."

     A.  Karl Marx
    B. Lenin
    C.  Molotov
    D. Barack Obama
    E. None of  the above

6) "I think it's time to send a clear message to what has  become the most profitable sector in (the) entire economy that they are being  watched."

    A. Pinochet
    B.  Milosevic
    C. Saddam Hussein
    D.  Barack Obama
    E. None of the above

Oh come on, ncn.  I missed ALL OF THEM!  How much worse could you get than me?  You don't have to be American to take the quiz....it sure didn't help ME!  :blush2:  Actually, now that I look at the names of the possible answers, most of them are not American anyway.

I know what I think the obvious answer is to each question.  I have never heard anyone say those thigns,  but I am giong to go out on a limb here, and say, "none" for each one.  A shot in the dark.

I'm guessing E for all of them. I hope I'm not being biased, but I'm pretty sure that Hillary Clinton said one of them. Maybe she said all of them.

Well, I kind of think the quotes were from Stalin and Marx......   but it was the "president to be" that actually said them....   hope that makes sense......     and I would really hope it would be more than a bit disturbing

I'd bet that if you asked the POTUS he would agree with them all.

edited to add:       And since we elected this bozo twice, I doubt that it will make any difference.

I, too, was thinking Hitler and Stalin for the quotes.....how interesting, yet not shocking.

I decided to look this up.

It turns out this are sentences taken out of context.

Read here

I also noticed this came out in 2007. That would put this within the time frame she was running for president. That makes this subject to a smear campaign ploy. Add to that how the quiz sets your focus on Barak Obama, just to show you it wasn't him, makes me suspicious of the source.

^ Smear campaign? Quite possibly (not that I condone smear campaigns, I certainly do not). Though I don't believe it's far from the truth, after all, Hilary (in recent years) has proved that herself time and time again.

You may well have a point, O.O., about the quotes.  But let's remember we shouldn't call the POTUS names, regardless of who he/she may be.
