    • The even bigger question should be ,  is ,   WAS this the attitude of the early church.   did paul, peter ,  jude or others ever talk like this . OR did they always say IF you have the SPIRIT you already have what is necessary and they went about correcting the church NOW and never gave hope in some future awakening , but rather said GET RIGHT in the LORD or risk all.   The thing is the church of acts like all true believers ,  always warned be READY NOW ,  be ready NOW as did JESUS ,    BE READY for you know not when your LORD does come . They never once spoke of an age of a large awakening hour as being near the end, it was always warnings that many would fall away don't be led away with the error of the wicked.  Be looking , BE READY NOW .    The only thing I ever heard them say about how it would be near the end was days like  noah,  days like lott,  a strong delusion , a great falling away,   and as I said the church ALREADY has all that it needs . The reason we don't see it so much, is due to a large falling away has been occurring and will get worse . We don't see it so much in western socities ,   but we see it where they aer persecuted heavily.    And not all will have every gift. the gifts are here just as they have always been.   Some still have the gift of healing , some of prophesy , and etc. To give people hope in some coming event ,  is to in part ROB them of what they HAVE RIGHT NOW .  putting ideas into the heads of believers that we are not fully equipped as we will be ,  is just not what we should be doing . WE should ,  WE should get up and DO something ,  WE ALREADY got every single thing we will ever need, IF WE HAVE JESUS , HE IS THE SAME YESTERDAY , TODAY and FOREVER .  TWO things are hurting many ,  one is we in a falling away which was prophesied to come and is spiralin out of control And if we tell the church , just wait , our rain is coming ,   INSTEAD of telling them GET UP NOW and do what the trues ones have done in all ages WE just kicking the can down the road .   ITS TIME TO WARN , EXHORT , ENCOURAGE , TODAY ,  no man knows the morrow .  WE DO ALL TODAY UNTO THE LORD NOW .
    • I am trying to reach everyone I can reach with the message of the gospel, not the message of a future awakening.
    • What is an earthly government that is at variance to scripture? A form of tyranny? A punishment for the days of Samuel? Can we go to Joel for a clue? Joel 2. 12-15
    • Butero my friend, I'm sorry to confess that I have failed. I really thought we could hit that logical nail on its head. But it isn't meant to be. The logical nail is surrounded by a minefield of obtusity, false outrage, deflection, and contradiction. The closer we get, the bigger the explosions. If you think this is a hill worthy dying on, Godspeed. I gotta go find some other hill.
    • I'm sorry. Some times I act like a jerk.

      Bad day yesterday! I was sinful, lazy, and had a bad attitude. Ignored the Holy Spirit.
      Hopefully today will be better. I plan to pray, repent, and then come here and soak up the all the goodness and love.
      Many thanks to Worthy Forums and its members for providing a safe haven to share, learn, and find encouragement.
      May God bless each one of you!

      9 “I kept looking
      Until thrones were set up,
      And the Ancient of Days took His seat;
      His vesture was like white snow
      And the hair of His head like pure wool.
      His throne was ablaze with flames,
      Its wheels were a burning fire.

      10 “A river of fire was flowing
      And coming out from before Him;
      Thousands upon thousands were attending Him,
      And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him;
      The court sat,
      And the books were opened.

      Psalm 63 vs 1 - 4
      You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you;
      I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you,
      in a dry and parched land
      where there is no water.
      I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.
      Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
       I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
